Aseptic Processing – Cleanrooms and Control Technologies

This lesson explains the rationale behind cleanroom design and how cleanrooms are set up. It includes a description of HVAC and HEPA filters, unidirectional airflow, personnel and material airlocks, cleanroom architecture, pressure cascades and positioning of key equipment.

The goal of the lesson is to communicate how cleanroom design and operation minimizes bioburden and the threat of contamination with the ultimate aim of producing safe and effective products. 

Prerequisites: A basic knowledge of GMP is assumed.
